Whacked on Rhythm

Description

Your students will experience steady beat, note and rest values, tempo, syncopation and more, in this creative and ‘whacky’ approach to teaching rhythm basics. The elements of rhythm are presented sequentially in a variety of learning exercises that precede the songs. Students then practice these exercises on Boomwhackers and other classroom instruments, and then play-along with instructional tracks on the CD before applying the rhythm elements to the songs. This sequential approach encourages students to build on what they have previously learned as each new concept is introduced. Included in this collection of 8 original songs are reproducible singer and instrument parts, piano accompaniment arrangements, and a performance/accompaniment CD. All of the songs use the C Major Diatonic Scale set of Boomwhackers. Songs include: Keep It Steady; Quarter Notes; How Many Eighth Notes?; All About Notes; Give It a Rest; Tempo; The Time Signature Song and Synco-Pop. Grades 2-5.
